Jenny Williams - Guest Round 2 Pre-match Function
We are delighted that Jenny Williams will be joining the Supporter’s Group as our special guest for Round 2. Jenny is the daughter of the legendary Fos Williams (no doubt some of our old Magpies supporters would like to hear a few stories!) and the sister of current Port Adelaide coach Mark Williams. She is Port through and through! In her own right she has had a decorated sporting career representing South Australia in lacrosse, touch football, soccer and cricket.
This year Jenny was appointed by the Port Adelaide Football Club along with former Australian women's basketball coach Jan Stirling to assist the Port Adelaide players off field growth and to oversee Port's leadership program.
Over summer Jenny and Jan conducted leadership programs and exhaustive psychological testing that helped determine the size of the Port leadership group for season 2010 (reduced from eight to three). The testing by Jenny and Jan was fundamental in the selection of players to makeup the leadership group.
Jenny also spends time working as a consultant in Sport Psychology and coordinating youth programs with the Port Adelaide Football Club. Jenny meets with the Port players a couple of times a week to provide advice and general counselling.
Jenny is married to Mark and has a daughter Ellen. Jen enjoys playing touch and lacrosse with her family, coaching junior basketball and tennis. Jenny has also written an interactive children's book in conjunction with her brother Mark.
